SCOPE:

FACADE REPAIRS - LANDMARK PRESERVATION

This condominium building consists of a series of adjoining textile warehouses retrofitted into modern upscale residential units. It is located in the heart of Tribeca in downtown Manhattan- a neighborhood known for its industrial architecture and cobblestone streets.

Madocks Architecture was tasked with restoring the façade of this landmarked building while preserving its unique historic character. The scope of the project included brick and mortar replacement, repainting of the iconic “The Julliard Building” sign on the street facing façade, as well as roof repairs to prevent water infiltration. Most notably, the primary challenge of this project was the restoration of the steel window shutters and the extensive effort that went into honoring the original design intent.
